LANGHE
ROSSO "GENTILIUM"
Grapes: 90%
Nebbiolo from the best vineyards in Barolo region 10% Barbera Alba.
Production area: in Piedmont, in the province of Cuneo, in particular
in the Langhe.
Colour: ruby with orange hues.
Bouquet: typical and intense with hints of violets.
Taste: dry and velvety.
Minimum alcoholic content: 11% vol.
Serving temperature: 18 °- 20 °C. Uncork the bottle at
least one hour before drinking.
Best with: it is excellent with red meats, game, matured cheeses and
as meditation wine.
Information: Undoubtedly, "Gentilium" is one of the traditional wines
of Piedmont and Langa. It will be aged three years in oak or chestnut barrels.
This wine will be presented in an old ¾ litre bottle, embellished with a reproduction
of a two-lira coin in circulation during the Savoy Kingdom set in red sealing
wax.
DOLCETTO DI DIANO D'ALBA
Grapes: Dolcetto
Production area: in the commune of Diana d'Alba
Colour: ruby
Bouquet: winey, persistent and fruity
Taste: dry and full-bodied, with a slightly bitterish aftertaste
Minimum alcoholic content: 11,5% vol.
Serving temperature: 16-20 °C.
Best with: palatable wine throughout a meal. It is indicated with appetisers,
stuffed pasta and with red and white meats.
BARBERA D'ALBA
Grapes: Barbera
Production area: around the town of Alba
Colour: ruby
Bouquet: typical, winey
Taste: full-bodied with a bitterish aftertaste
Minimum alcoholic content: 11,5% vol.
Serving temperature: 18-20 °C.
Best with: both red and white meats. Perfect with middle- and long-matured
cheeses.
GRIGNOLINO PIEMONTE
Grapes: Grignolino
Production area: in the hill area overlooking Alba, called "Langhe"
Colour: soft ruby
Bouquet: pleasant and persistent with hints of wild flowers
Taste: dry, slightly tannic with a pleasantly bitterish aftertaste
Minimum alcoholic content: 11% vol.
Serving temperature: 15-18 °C.
Best with: it is a very delicate wine throughout a meal, and is particularly
good with Piedmontese mixed horsd'oeuvre and main courses.
NEBBIOLO ALBA
Grapes: Nebbiolo
Production area: around Alba, touching several villages
Colour: ruby with different nuances
Bouquet: typical and delicate, reminiscent of the odour of violets
Taste: dry, full-bodied, velvety and harmonious
Minimum alcoholic content: 12% vol.
Serving temperature: 18 °C.
Best with: both white and red roast meats, perfect with regional dishes
and seasoned cheeses
